Miami International Autodrome is a street circuit around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. This “purpose-built temporary circuit” was specifically designed for the Miami Grand Prix by Apex Circuit Design. Stephen Ross, the owner of the Hard Rock Stadium, had been trying to attract F1’s attention for quite some time, as talks about a potential race in Miami started well in advance, with track designs being proposed as early as October 2019. According to the organizers, up to 75 circuit designs were considered and 36 designs were simulated in over the 4-year decision-making process.

The track is located on the private grounds of the Hard Rock Stadium, using both new and existing roads within the stadium grounds: when F1 cars aren’t driving around the track, the permanent asphalt roads are a part of the stadium’s parking area. Similar to other street circuits, a few weeks before the start of the Grand Prix weekend, the work begins as the circuit and its safety features are put together in the area. Once the Grand Prix weekend is completed, the circuit is disassembled and Hard Rock Stadium grounds are reverted to its original set-up. Miami International Autodrome is the 11th American venue to host a Formula 1 World Championship round and the first of three US rounds on the 2023 calendar.

Due to the circuit only recently joining the calendar in 2022, Red Bull is the most successful constructor, with 1 win. Max Verstappen is the most successful driver, winning the inaugural 2022 Miami Grand Prix. 

The Miami International Autodrome “is a fast, flowing temporary venue with a number of high-speed sections that lead to sudden, long braking zones, offering plenty of overtaking options”, with “the final sector of the circuit also includ[ing] a tight, narrow section that looks set to be a challenge”. The track surface has also been repaved for the 2023 race.
